About Featured Artist Rosie Wick:
I grew up in an artistic and journalistic family in NY and AZ and attended Interlochen Arts Academy in MI., received a BA in Art from UH, Manoa in Hawaii and an MA in counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM.
My work in art and counseling provides access to inner and outer worlds immersive and challenging, yet fascinating and funny in the absurdity of it all. Finding one’s aesthetic and trusting it, not unlike therapeutic approaches and commitment to change, takes perseverance and patience. My late Father, Robert Wick, a bronze sculptor, used to say, “freedom through discipline,” which is helpful but so too is love and kindness which helps to assuage the inner critic and make space for process – more conducive to connection, risk and discovery than the negativity bias!
I have been represented by galleries in Hawaii, California, Colorado, and Arizona and currently have an art studio and a private practice in counseling in Tucson, AZ. – Rosie Wick
