We’re facing a bead shortage

Dear Friend of Beads of Courage,

We are currently experiencing a significant bead shortage, and we are doing everything we can to keep up. As soon as beads are made by our beadmakers and arrive at our Bead Pharmacy, they’re immediately shipped to hospitals already requesting more beads for the brave kids they serve.

Your support today will help us replenish our bead supply so we can continue fulfilling urgent requests from hospitals nationwide.

Be a warrior for brave kids — donate today.

One clinician recently shared with us:

“Beads of Courage is an invaluable part of our program and hospital. Having the opportunity to give patients something tangible that carries such deep meaning helps me build trusting relationships while empowering them to take ownership of their journey. It serves as a powerful reminder of every milestone achieved, every challenge overcome, and the incredible resilience shown along the way.”- Rachel, CCLS, on Hematology/Oncology

Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida

These beads are given every single day to brave children who rely on them to cope with their medical treatments and tell their stories of courage. Each bead is specially made for Beads of Courage, and we must order months in advance to ensure hospitals have what they need.

Right now, our available bead supply is running low. Your gift today will help us replenish our supply — ensuring we can continue fulfilling urgent requests from hospitals across the country.

Every bead tells a story of courage. Meet Ethan — a brave 12‑year‑old boy coping with a congenital heart defect. Ethan’s bead strand reflects every challenge he has faced and every moment of bravery he’s shown. Even on the toughest days, Ethan’s fierce spirit shines through.

“Ethan’s Beads of Courage tell the story of a warrior. Every bead represents and part of his journey he’s faced with incredible strength from surgeries and procedures to doctor’s visits and treatments. His beads are a powerful reminder that even on the hardest days, he continues to show resilience, courage, and a smile that inspires everyone around him.”

– Carrie, Ethan’s Mother

Children coping with cancer and other serious illnesses face so much with incredible courage. They are fiercely brave, and their courage deserves to be honored. Through Beads of Courage, each bead helps a child record, tell, and own their unique story of courage.

Read a powerful story from Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt that shows how collaboration and community support make Beads of Courage possible.

World Beads of Courage Day is our annual day to celebrate and honor the fierce courage of children coping with serious illness and their families. As this special day approaches, we want every child, like Ethan, to have the beads they need to tell their story and honor their courage.

Will you show your fierce support today?

You can also choose to Sponsor a Roar‑some Surprise Box for a Child in the hospital. These special boxes are 100% tax‑deductible and brighten a child’s day with something joyful to open. We hope to deliver 500 sponsored boxes before World Beads of Courage Day to 500 brave kids, helping them feel celebrated and supported.

For those who are able to make an even deeper impact, we also have a special opportunity to Sponsor a Program Bead for two years, helping ensure a stable supply of beads for hospitals nationwide. If you’re interested in learning more, please email sabrina@beadsofcourage.org.

Thank you for standing with these fiercely brave kids and their families and helping us continue to provide hope and healing through Beads of Courage.

With gratitude,
